RACING PLANNED FOR MAY -More info to come

For Immediate Release:
We just want to let everyone know, that we do still plan on racing in May at Eagle Raceway. We realize that direct health measures may or may not be relaxed in May, but no matter what, we are sure there will be restrictions. After a lot of thought and debating, this is the conclusion: Eagle Raceway will not survive if we do not open and at least do some form of business. The reality is, if we don't get more revenue coming in somehow, the racetrack will close, maybe even for good. So, this is the deal, we will be racing in May as long as circumstances do not change for the worse.  We figure if another track in our county is allowed to have over a hundred people in their facility at a time with a ten person rule in effect, then we should be able to have a race, even if it is just one class of cars at a time with only 24 cars. When we race in May, things are going to most likely look a lot different then normal. Depending on where this state is at with the COVID-19 pandemic and what the direct health measures are, we could see things at the track such as: limited grandstand tickets being sold, marked seats guiding fans how far to sit apart, temperature checkpoints before you are able to enter the premises, fans might have to wear a face covering, our staff may be required to wear face coverings, condiments would be distributed in a different way, markings on the ground as you enter any concession building to guide on how much space should be between customers, food served on an order only basis instead of sitting out in warmers for people to grab n go with, more hand sanitizing stations,  less classes of cars on a night of racing, increases in racing nights, limited amounts of cars per events, limited amounts of crew members per events, reserved pit stalls may not exist for part of the season so that everyone can space their trailers out, everyone may be asked to leave immediately after the races conclude, live streaming of events instead of grandstand access, tailgating being prohibited, driver purse changes, asking people to leave if they are not following social distancing, etc.  Once again, we do not know what is going to happen over the next week, or beyond, so these are just some scenarios. We have over 9,000 seats in our grandstands, and a very large pit area and we are certain that we will be able to maintain social distancing practices with that amount of space, not to mention the facility is outdoors. We want to let our drivers know that IF we have to limit the number of cars per class (which is very likely at first), that we will be doing it in a way so that we are supporting those that support our track the most.  If you had perfect attendance in 2019, you will be chosen first as an entry for any event that we have to limit the number of cars. After those that had perfect attendance are chosen, we will go to those that raced at least 75% and so on. We want to show you appreciation for supporting us. However, there will be a time frame to register by in order to ensure you are signed up for the event. We will let you know more on how this will work as we get closer to our first event and as we find out what restrictions we are dealing with, so check the website and Social media often. Also, Gold and Silver Pass holders will have first dibs on their own grandstand entries.  We will see what happens, but we have ideas on how to make things work out. We want all of our fans and drivers to be responsible, you should all make the right choices and not gather in large groups. We have plenty of space to offer for social distancing.
