From the Hiatts-
Bristol Hiatt is the daughter of Shane(21h modified driver) and Kylie Hiatt. She was diagnosed right before Christmas this last year with a very rare disease called RETT Syndrome.

What is Rett Syndrome?—It is a unique neurological disorder of the brain. It affects learning, speech, sensory sensations, mood, movement, breathing, cardiac function, and even chewing, swallowing, and digestion.

Bristol hit every milestone as a young child, she even at one point had a few words- at the age of 14 months she went silent, to her parents it seemed like a switch had just shut off and she wouldn’t try to talk again. After months and months of wondering we knew we had to do something. She started therapy in 2013 and then for other reasons had to quit for 6 months. When we returned to therapy our therapists said she shouldn’t have regressed in her motions, they were very concerned so in Oct we made a big appt to see 16 different doctors at Children’s Hospital in Omaha, then on dec.4th we made the appt for her to be tested for a disease we had no clue even existed. It was a heart felt time and still is hard to understand some days. Thankfully Bristol was diagnosed in a mild case but we still don't know what her future holds. She is in extensive therapy going now 2 days a week, without therapy we don’t know where she would be, so keeping her progress and strength is KEY in this disease.

This year racing is a whole different ball game for us, Shane only isn’t racing for competition he’s racing to raise awareness and racing to the front of the pack to win the race, to beat Retts. We are doing everything we can to raise money to send off to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation, every donation and every dime helps us get that much closer to finding a cure.

Recently US30 speedway held a huge benefit for Bristol, it brought in LOTS of fans and we raised LOTS of money that is set aside in an acct for Bristol to be sent off hopefully by the end of summer to the Rett Foundation. We are very grateful for the racing community because if there is one community to raise awareness for something, it is definitely the racing community! We can’t thank everyone enough for all the donations we have rec’d thus far and hope to raise so much more through out the summer!—We have t-shirts, decals and bracelets for sale! Stop on down to the trailer to get yours or follow us on facebook. We will also be selling 50/50 raffle Tickets at Eagle Raceway this Saturday, June 14th. Race for a cure. Race for Bristol.
