The Nebraska Cup Set For September 11th!

Icy streets, snow blanketing everything, temperatures below zero and teeth-chattering wind chills; if you live anywhere in the midwest you are probably experiencing most, if not all, of these conditions right now. Well, we have something for you to look forward to and plan for.

Eagle Raceway’s signature event, The Nebraska Cup, will take to the high banks of the Fastest 1/3 mile track in the country on September 11th 2011. Not just any ASCS Regional event, The Nebraska Cup features the best of the best 360 Sprint Car drivers in the country. With almost all tracks having finished their seasons, the event attracts competitors from all over the United States. Several ASCS National Tour racers put this race on their event each year for many reasons, evidenced by those who vied for the win last year. Jason Johnson emerged victorious over such stars as Brian Brown, Tony Bruce Jr., Jack Dover and Brady Bacon, as well as our local racers including Trevor Grossenbacher, multi-time points champion Mike Boston and Stu Snyder.

Not only will the 360 Sprints be competing for a top prize of $5000 to win the A Feature, they also look forward to all of the contingency prizes offered every year. Each of the past 2 seasons Eagle Raceway has given out numerous large prizes to the drivers and teams, and this year we plan on not only more giveaways but bigger and better ones. Of course, we wouldn’t think of leaving out the fans when it comes to the goodies as there will be plenty of items to share with those in attendance also.

A large part of the excitement of The Nebraska Cup each year is the Miss Nebraska Cup competition. Fans will have numerous chances to meet, talk to and take pictures with the finalists in the competition throughout the evening. During intermission last year’s Miss Nebraska Cup, Kaitlin Leonard will pass on her crown to the 2011 winner.

The evening’s racing will feature the ASCS 360 sprints as usual, with the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sport Compacts as support classes for the event.

Be sure to put this race on your calendar, as it is always one of the best events on Eagle’s schedule every season.
