By Greg Soukup Rockin’ Freedom Fest, presented by Sam’s Club, fell on our nation’s most patriotic holiday Saturday, and saw a good-sized crowd of racing fans treated to some great racing and quite possibly the best fireworks show in Eagle Raceway’s history. There were no major occurrences in the preliminary events. The first A Feature was for the NAPA IMCA Sport Modifieds and saw Matt Andrews’ 22A out front with the 99RE of Arie Schouten, Anthony Kobus’ 27 and the S56 of Scott Bivens close behind. Mary Lenz leapfrogged Kobus and Bivens on lap 2, putting the 17 into third with Kobus retaining fourth. Kobus repassed Lenz on lap 4, and then took over second a lap later as...

By Greg Soukup A large crowd filed in through the front gates of Eagle Raceway Saturday night under sunny skies and temperatures in the high 80’s for Roll with it! Night, presented by Froggy 98 and Coors Light. By the time the 138 cars ran their heats and readied for their B and A Features, the sun started to set and the racing heated to offset the cooling air. by Greg Soukup Jailhouse Rock Night, presented by Great Clips saw very warm temperatures lead to a beautiful night for racing as 138 cars took to the high banks of Eagle Raceway Saturday night. 17 heat races and 4 B Features were run without major incident, leading up to the main events in all 5 classes. The NAPA IMCA Sport Modified feature’s first lap saw Mike Hansen’s 94 the first one back to the flag stand with Joe Schidler’s K00, Steve Osmon’s 4J and the 18 of Dion Kovar close behind. If a weekly Saturday night race is cancelled due to weather, Eagle Raceway will re-schedule that event for the following Sunday* night with the pit gate opening at 4PM, Front Gate opening at 4:45PM, Hot Laps at 5PM, and Racing at 6PM. The re-scheduled Rockin’ Sundays will consist of the RaceSaver IMCA Sprints, Kaplan IMCA Modifieds, NAPA IMCA SportMods, Valentino’ s IMCA Hobby Stocks and the Sam’s Club IMCA Sport Compacts. *Please note that we can not utilize Rockin’ Sundays on July 26th, 2015 because of the Beatrice Speedway race that is already sanctioned IMCA. Sunny skies and lots of racing made for a great show. In the B Feature for the NAPA IMCA Sport Modifieds, Sean Manning’s X52 came to a stop at the top of turn 3.
