IMCA Sponsor’s Contingency Awards For Sprint Nationals Weekend

The history of the division long ago known as the IMCA big cars continues this weekend at Eagle Raceway, with the second annual Sprint Car Super Nationals. Under the hood horsepower steadily replaced horse racing at venues across the country and many IMCA Sprint Car hotshoes became household names before World War II intervened. Armed forces Night Story

By Greg Soukup Although the temperatures were cool, Armed Forces Night presented by Kaplan University and Miller Lite saw a very good crowd show up to watch the racing action on the high banks of Eagle Raceway Saturday night. Heat #3 in the Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stocks saw Nick Beckman’s #22 do a nose-stand into turn 3 after the car behind him got into the rear of his racer and raise it enough to plant the front bumper. Although he was uninjured, his racer was damaged too badly to continue. The NAPA IMCA Sport Modified A Feature stopped almost before it started when Adam Vrbka’s 7V hit an implement tire on the first lap, causing the right front tire...

Services for Mick Nelson

Picture2

Mick came to Eagle Raceway every Saturday night  to help out his Daughter and Son in Law (Michelle and Roger Hadan) up until towards the end of the 2013 racing season. Most of you that have been in the pits for years, knew him as the old man that sat and watched the Pit gate who would wear a stocking cap and a winter coat in 80 degree weather, would sometimes fall asleep on the job, but did whatever it took to keep the Pit area safe. He loved coming to Eagle, and he enjoyed his job, he also thought of a lot of you as good friends of his. We will miss having Mick at the track.   Nelson, Milton...
