By Greg Soukup Freedomfest 2014, presented by Mud in America and Budweiser was held Saturday night at Eagle Raceway with probably the best weather of the year. Numerous other area tracks cancelled, lending extra race teams to the festivities. All preliminary races were held with no serious incidents. The first A Feature saw Josh Kennell’s 71K, the 22K of Kevin Anderson, Scott Bivens in the S56 and Nate Thompson’s 3T leading the NAPA IMCA Sport Modified field at the end of the first lap. by Greg Soukup Despite heavy overnight rainfall, the crack Eagle Raceway track prep crew gave the drivers and a good-sized crowd the opportunity to enjoy some racing as Diggin’ in the Dirt night was presented by Colby’s Candy and Froggy 98. There were no major incidents in the preliminary action. Ken Eckhoff’s #5, Jack Prall III’s 44, the 7V of Adam Vrbka and Scott Bivens in the S56 led the field at the end of the first circuit of the NAPA IMCA Sport Modified feature.
