The 2014 Eagle Raceway Awards Banquet will be held Saturday, January 10th, 2015 at the Lancaster Event Center, 4100 N. 84th Street in Lincoln, NE. Happy hour starts at 5:00 pm and Dinner at 6:00 pm. All of the preliminary events were run without serious incident. The first A Feature was for the Kaplan University Modifieds. By Greg Soukup Night 2 of the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Super Nationals presented by Precise Racing, Venom Energy and NMC Cat Rental Store saw a very large crowd turn out for the action Saturday night. There was no precipitation in sight, and the racers put on a show to keep the fans thrilled to be there. There were no serious incidents in the preliminary action. The history of the division long ago known as the IMCA big cars continues this weekend at Eagle Raceway, with the second annual Sprint Car Super Nationals. The first IMCA events were held at county and state fairgrounds tracks in 1915. Under the hood horsepower steadily replaced horse racing at venues across the country and many IMCA Sprint Car hotshoes became household names before World War II intervened. Racing resumed in 1946 and so did the popularity of IMCA and its drivers. The likes of Bobby Grim, Emory Collins, Deb Snyder, and Pete Folse thrilled fans from coast to coast, each winning more than 100 sanctioned features over the course of their stories careers. Open House Practice Night  -Thur. Aug 28th, 2014 is Cancelled! Sprint Pre-Tech opens at 10AM and will be open until 8pm. Everything will be a go for tomorrow Friday, Aug. 29th with regular start times. Anyone camping tonight…there will be a Sloppy Joe Meal available at the concession stand for purchase. All start times are still confirmed at this time for the rest of the weekend.

Note: In the event of rain Friday-Saturday no refunds or rain checks will be issued and program will be completed the next day as per the schedule below. But, the racing for the season-long points championships gave the fans plenty to keep them anxiously anticipating the next race. Joe Schidler got sideways in his NAPA IMCA Sport Modified heat and ended up hitting one of the implement tires marking the infield and rolled his racer over. Neil Dvorak also ended up going over as he jumped the cushion in the first heat for the Mud In America Racesaver ICMA Sprint Car heat. Neither driver was seriously injured. At intermission children 12 and under were treated to rides in the competitors’ race cars for a trip around the high banks of Eagle Raceway. In the Sam’s Club IMCA Sport Compact B Feature, the 29X of Aunna Ray Morford and the 14XM of Tommy Etherton got together, sending Morford hard into the turn 4 wall. Morford was taken to the pits in the ambulance, but was not transported.
