The only serious incident in the preliminary events came in the first heat for the ASCS Sprint Cars. The left rear axle on Jason Johnson’s #41 snapped, sending...

Holliman & Galusha win at night #1 of the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint SuperNationals

By Greg Soukup Mother Nature failed twice to stop Night #1 of the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Super Nationals, presented by Precise Racing, Venom Energy and NMC Cat Rental Store Friday evening at Eagle Raceway. After dumping over 5 inches of rain on the track in the days before, she allowed the first heat to be run. She made a last-ditch effort before the second heat could be run, raining for about 20 minutes. As they had that morning and...

IMCA Sponsor’s Contingency Awards For Sprint Nationals Weekend

The history of the division long ago known as the IMCA big cars continues this weekend at Eagle Raceway, with the second annual Sprint Car Super Nationals. The first IMCA events were held at county and state fairgrounds tracks in 1915. Under the hood horsepower steadily replaced horse racing at venues across the country and many IMCA Sprint Car hotshoes became household names before World War II intervened. Racing resumed in 1946 and so did the popularity of IMCA...

Exciting News for 2013 Sprints

Posted 05 Jul 2012 in Headlines
eagle logo [Converted]

The Facts for 2013 Sprints 2013 will bring IMCA sanction and rules to Eagle Raceway for the Sprint car class in an attempt to bolster the sprint car count. We feel that the sprint show has lost its fan appeal with the low car counts and feel it is unfair to the fans to not try a change. In fairness to Eagle Raceway’s loyal sprint cars, there will be a one year phase in period through the end on 2013. Any sprint car competitor without an IMCA RaceSaver engine will be allowed to compete with a restrictor, supplied by Eagle Raceway at no charge, on top of the stacks. Details and specifications will be coming soon. There is also...

Tadd Holliman had an easy roll-over in turn 1 of the first Budweiser 360 Sprint heat. The 1H also went for a roll on the front stretch of the Nebraska Drive Shaft & Radiator third heat. Neither driver was seriously injured. The Budweiser 360 Sprint Car A Feature was the first of the evening. Posted 17 Jun 2012 in Headlines

By Greg Soukup Despite over 4 inches of rain Thursday, Eagle Raceway’s track prep crew got the racing surface in shape for some fantastic action Saturday evening. Although there was rain all over the region, and several area race tracks cancelled their cards, the sun broke through and the high banks were tacky and fast. The preliminary events had no serious incidents. The Budweiser 360 Sprint Cars were the first feature event of the night. Tyler Drueke took advantage of his front row starting spot and held the lead after lap 1 in the #12 followed by ken Klabunde’s 28, the 82 of Jason Danley and John Klabunde in the 77. The first yellow flag of the race came...

The Nebraska Drive Shaft & Radiator IMCA Modifieds were the first A Feature for the evening. Cain, Harker and Bacon take home wins on Night #1 of the Eagle Nationals

Posted 10 Jun 2012 in Headlines

By Greg Soukup Night one of the Eagle Nationals, featuring the Lucas Oil ASCS National Sprint Car Series presented by MavTV, and promoted by TBJ Promotions, saw great racing throughout the night in all 3 classes. Temperatures and expectations were high; and although the temperatures cooled, the competition stayed at a fever pitch until the final checkered flag. In the second heat for the ASCS Sprint Cars, as the racers came to turn 1 just a couple of laps in, the 71 of Tige Jensen and Dustin Morgan’s #2 flipped violently, collecting Jason Johnson’s 41. Jensen and Morgan’s cars were too badly damaged to be repaired, but Johnson’s crew would thrash and get him back in time for the...
