By Greg Soukup Dirt Cheap Night, presented by Great Clips saw a huge crowd turn out to watch the racing action at Eagle Raceway Saturday evening. Warm and breezy conditions during the afternoon gave way to cool temperatures but the competition made sure that nobody got chilled. There were no major occurrences in the preliminary racing. The NAPA IMCA Sport Modified main event began with Nate Thompson in the 3T, Roger Sluka’s 5XS, Joe Schidler in the K00 and the S56 of Scott Bivens out front of lap #1. Lap 2 saw Schidler and Bivens move to second and third while Benji Legg also passed Sluka to put the 25 into fourth. Legg got past Bivens the next time...

By Greg Soukup Mother Nature sent a cold front through during Eat My Dirt Night, presented by Rotella’s and Pepsi Saturday night. Rather than causing rain and stopping the racing, the evening cooled off and provided a perfect night for the large crowd to enjoy the action at America’s Home Track. No major incidents occurred during the preliminary events. Lap 1 of the NAPA IMCA Sport Modified A Feature was led by Dana Deeke’s 36 followed by Mary Lenz in the 17, the 2R of Don Rinke and Dion Kovar in the 18. The very large crowd that turned out for the racing action at America’s Home Track were treated to that and more during the evening. Bob Dvorak flipped in turns 3 & 4 of the Mud In America Racesaver IMCA Sprint Car B Feature for the sole serious occurrence during the preliminary events. By Greg Soukup Freedomfest 2014, presented by Mud in America and Budweiser was held Saturday night at Eagle Raceway with probably the best weather of the year. Numerous other area tracks cancelled, lending extra race teams to the festivities. All preliminary races were held with no serious incidents. The first A Feature saw Josh Kennell’s 71K, the 22K of Kevin Anderson, Scott Bivens in the S56 and Nate Thompson’s 3T leading the NAPA IMCA Sport Modified field at the end of the first lap. Shawn Harker put the 40 into fourth on lap 3 after Bivens fell back, but Bivens regained the spot before the end of the lap. Trent Roth jumped all the way to 3rd on lap...

by Greg Soukup Despite heavy overnight rainfall, the crack Eagle Raceway track prep crew gave the drivers and a good-sized crowd the opportunity to enjoy some racing as Diggin’ in the Dirt night was presented by Colby’s Candy and Froggy 98. There were no major incidents in the preliminary action. Ken Eckhoff’s #5, Jack Prall III’s 44, the 7V of Adam Vrbka and Scott Bivens in the S56 led the field at the end of the first circuit of the NAPA IMCA Sport Modified feature.
