A huge car count of 182 and the season’s largest crowd turned out, thanks in part to the True Grit Challenge in memory of Jeff and Tanner Fosler. There were no significant incidents in the preliminary events. The initial A Feature was for the NAPA IMCA Sport Modifieds. Kaleb Kennedy led Shawn Harker’s 40 and the 7R of Kyle Flodman. Harker moved up to second on lap 2 as Vrbka took the lead. Kenney passed Harker on lap 3. Rob Schreiner looped his 21R in turn 4 on lap 4 and the yellow flag was brought out....

By Greg Soukup Saturday’s Freedom Fest, presented by Sam’s Club & Kaplan University saw a late-arriving crowd that turned out to be the best one of the year so far at Eagle Raceway. Couple that with nearly perfect weather and a great fireworks show following the racing action and hardly anyone could ask for more. Dwight Carter’s 4u made contact with the 13 of Eric Reichwaldt in the third Budweiser IMCA Racesaver Sprint heat causing him to turn directly into the fourth turn wall. By Greg Soukup Mother Nature was kind to the racers and fans at Eagle Raceway for the second week in a row as Junior Fan Club Night, presented by Colby Ridge, saw a very good crowd gather under sunny skies that turned into a beautiful breezy night. The lone incident in the racing leading up to the feature happened when Gary Joens Jr. snap-rolled his race car in turn 4 in the NAPA IMCA Sport Modified B Feature. Joens Jr. was alright. There were several special guests Saturday night at Eagle Raceway for Hall of Fame Night, sponsored by Bud Light. However, none of them were as welcome as the one that has been absent from the high banks; racing weather. After 3 consecutive rain-outs, the regular season resumed in front of a large crowd and eventually, sunny skies. The only incident in the preliminary action was when the #9 sprinter of Frank Sheridan suffered a fuel leak in the cockpit which caught fire. Sheridan steered his car into the infield and exited it quickly as the Fire & Rescue team extinguished the flames. Sheridan was taken to the hospital but release with burns on his right hand and both heels....
