Posted 14 Jul 2013 in Headlines

By Greg Soukup It wasn’t a full moon Saturday night as Sam’s Club presented Nostalgic Night at Eagle Raceway, but it was a strange night nonetheless. In the hot laps for the Budweiser IMCA Racesaver Sprints Frank Sheridan’s car suffered a fuel leak and caught fire. After the fire was extinguished, and it was being pushed back to his pit, the fire reignited. In the first heat race for the Sam’s Club IMCA Sport Compacts the 82B of Kurt Beckstrom ran headlong into the wall between turns 1 & 2. Kurt had to be extracted from the car after suffering a severe ankle injury. In the third heat for the class Amanda Rhiley suffered a broken forearm after spinning...

Swarthout, Armstrong, Hiatt, Olsen & Boston win during Freedom Fest

Posted 30 Jun 2013 in Headlines

By Greg Soukup Saturday’s Freedom Fest, presented by Sam’s Club & Kaplan University saw a late-arriving crowd that turned out to be the best one of the year so far at Eagle Raceway. Couple that with nearly perfect weather and a great fireworks show following the racing action and hardly anyone could ask for more. Dwight Carter’s 4u made contact with the 13 of Eric Reichwaldt in the third Budweiser IMCA Racesaver Sprint heat causing him to turn directly into the fourth turn wall. Carter walked away from the incident but his evening of racing was over. The NAPA IMCA Sport Modified A Feature had Dustin Thayer’s 10T leading the first lap followed by the 7V of Adam Vrbka,...

Posted 23 Jun 2013 in Headlines

By Greg Soukup Mother Nature was kind to the racers and fans at Eagle Raceway for the second week in a row as Junior Fan Club Night, presented by Colby Ridge, saw a very good crowd gather under sunny skies that turned into a beautiful breezy night. The lone incident in the racing leading up to the feature happened when Gary Joens Jr. snap-rolled his race car in turn 4 in the NAPA IMCA Sport Modified B Feature. Joens Jr. was alright. First up in the A Main line-up was the final race of the evening for the NAPA IMCA Sport Modifieds. The end of the first lap saw the 7 of Bob Ruisinger, Jason Harms in the 6H,...
